Hi Donald,

Thanks for commenting on the post.

You're right, setting up a blog is only part of the story, you also have to be collaborative. I would suggest tools such s twitter would be a good network facility. Take the time to find people who are interested in the same areas of business as you and follow them, be prepared to interact with them and comment on articles posted by them and linked by them. (Don't be afraid to challenge - or be challenged!)

The more you interact with others the more you can learn and keep up to date with the latest developments in your field and twitter is an ideal tool for this.

Don't be afraid to set up a blog where you can add your thoughts to the 'great debate'. By combining your tools, such as your blog and twitter, others can share your views with their friends and your circle grows. Someone listening may understand your message more than someone else and you could help them grasp a concept using your language.

All the best.

spot on post!
its so true, lack of access to a decent connection both in rural and urban areas due to line length is the main obstacle to digital inclusion. Until we have ubiquitous connectivity we are fighting a losing battle. People with poor connections put off others from getting online. Unless you live within a couple of km from an exchange you can't get a reliable service without spending a fortune on a business line, and even then it is very slow.

I am a computing graduate from 7 years ago, I’ve worked mainly in councils since then. Always at the interface between ICT and business needs. I've just finished 3 years on ContactPoint and am starting as a System and Business Analyst on Mon 28th June.

Your site is interesting - I am keen on the idea of Business Analyst development. My degree covered System Analysis but there are lots of new ideas I need to learn about. What I want to do is develop myself, learn from and join in the debates and apply the ideas in practice.

I could set up a blog which would exist in a distant corner of the web but it needs to be something more collaborative. Not sure what to do – any ideas ?
